West Brom left back Paul Robinson headed up a VitalWatford poll that quizzed fans on which former Glory Hornet boy (of recent years) they`d like to see Aidy Boothroyd bring back in the infamous yellow and black.
Do or Die fullback Robbo, who`s parents are East Stand season ticket holders at Vicarage Road, blew away the competition, pulling in 56% of the vote - confirming his status as a Watford cult hero.
As a product of Watford`s youth scheme, Robbo made over 250 appearances for the Hornets before being sold - in the infinite wisdom of Luca Vialli - to the Baggies for just a handful of magic beans (that when watered sadly only turned into Paul Mayo and Jermaine Darlington).
Aidy Boothroyd is rumoured to have already floated a £1.4m bid for Robinson around the Hawthorns without success, whilst the full back has also seen a £1.5m move to Wigan Athletic collapse due to a failed medical!
Robbo beat Reading`s defensive midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson into 2nd place (15%), which again suggests Watford fans question Boothroyd`s decision to make the Icelandic hardman the first casualty of his new regime.
Burnley centre back Clarke Carlisle and WBA`s Kevin Phillips scrapped it out for 3rd place on the Vital podium with the big defender just nicking it ahead of the ex Baldock Town striker.
Surprisingly there was little support for Man Utd winger Chris Eagles, who has dazzled and dazed the Watford faithful during 2 loan spells whilst former left wing favourite Lee Cook only polled 1%.
1% more than now Fulham team mate Chris Baird though - who despite his Northern Ireland experience and Premiership profile - still isn`t considered a good enough buy back in Watford fans` eyes.
