'Lew' to paper over cracks at Fulham

Ex Glory Hornet boss Ray Lewington has once again stepped into the breach as caretaker boss of Fulham after the surprise sacking of Lawrie Sanchez today.

Lewington, who endured 150 games in charge at Vicarage Road, has been promoted from his role as Reserve team boss at Craven Cottage and will pick up the short term reigns - alongside Billy McKinley - whilst Al Fayed goes Christmas shopping for a permanent boss.

With over 200 games as Fulham boss between 1986-1990 already under his belt, Lewington is no stranger to the Craven Cottage hotseat and has had previous spells as Fulham caretaker during the 90s before moving on to make his name at Brentford, Palace and Watford.

Lawrie Sanchez paid the ultimate penalty for the fact that Fulham have only won twice all season despite splashing the cash on a host of lesser known Premiership and half decent Championship players during the summer, including former Hornets Lee Cook, Chris Baird and, of course, Hameur Bouazza.

Here at VitalWatford, we wish Raw Lewington well.
