Watford rivals 'don't play football'

Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd has bit back at all the media criticism that states his Watford team are physical, far too direct and ugly to watch by insisting that it`s the Hornets championship rivals that don`t play 'the beautiful game`.

In his weekly email to the Glory Hornets faithful, 'Ugly Betty` Boothroyd stated "We know all too well by now that teams don't want to play football against us, they want to stifle us and hit us on the break."

Boothroyd`s words come on the back of Plymouth Argyll boss` Paul Sturrock`s comments that his side had carried out a 'smash and grab` at Vicarage Road despite the fact that the ardentest of ardent Watford fans would admit that the Pilgrims dominated long periods of the game and looked the far classier of the teams on show.

To say the VitalWatford boys are baffled by Sir Aidy`s comments then would be a bit of an understatement.

Watford do play unattractive, hoof football which premiership refs dont allow there consistant fouling, hence why they finished bottom last year and had a terrible points total, despite the fact they had a good keeper between the sticks.

Thats a little harsh. Some players, i.e Henderson are judged on being 6 foot plus, hence every time he goes near the ball, 'peep', free kick to oppostion. Are you a Saints fan by the way? 'Cos if you are, our style was enough to beat you was it not?!
