Halesowen - Home of Watford old boys
Former Watford striker Francino Francis (yep him of league cup fame) has joined the Watford old-boys ranks at British Gas Business Football League Premier Division side, Halesowen Town. (wow, that was a mouthful!).
Francis played 3 times for Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd against Wolves and Wigan in the League Cup as well as Leeds in The Championship before being released at the end of last season, when he joined Redditch Town.
The 20-year old Jamaican striker will now team up with ex Golden Boys in the Yeltz squad at The Grove - winger Paul Devlin (90 games for Watford), midfielder David PurpleTweenie (who threw his toys out of the pram at Sir Graham Taylor) and 1990s legend Darren Caskey, who joined the Hornets on loan from Spurs in 1995.
Halesowen are currently play-off contenders in their league despite having to face the might of Hemel Hempstead Town, Cheshunt, Hitchin and Bedford Town - all of whom have appeared on Watford`s pre-season fixture list in the past few seasons.
