Mahon agrees deal to join QPR

Mahon agrees deal to join QPR

VitalWatford are led to believe that Watford club captain Gavin Mahon has agreed to join Championship strugglers QPR for a fee of £150,000 when the transfer window opens in January.

Mahon, 30, who has played over 210 games for the Hornets after signing from Brentford for the £150K in March 2002, is out of contract in the summer, was dropped from the squad for Tuesday`s win at Colchester and has yet to be offered a new deal by Aidy Boothroyd.

The Daily Mail have also indicated that central midfielder Mahon will joined at Loftus Road by Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy who has also put pen to paper in a £2m move.

No, really, we promise we havn't been drinking here at VitalWatford Towers.

I'd say we've got a good deal for Mahon if what we are led to believe is true. What do you Hornets make of the news?

Thank god. He's not a bad player that said. He trys hard, gets stuck in, appears to be a reasonable captain, and when you least expect it, pops up with a goal. Other than that he generally goes sideways or backwards, or puts the ball aimless up in the air.

No pace and lacks any idea of how to attack or pass the ball! Aidy won't offer him a new contract as he lacks the basic ingredients to go to the next level in my book!

Strange...but you have that John-Joe O'toole who can take his place?
