Aidy delighted with display

Aidy Boothroyd expressed his delight of Watford’s 4-1 win at second-placed Sheffield United.

Boothroyd told the club’s official site “I am delighted with my players tonight, I thought they were fantastic from start to finish. “It puts a marker sown in the sand for one or two sides who might of thought that we would slip away. “People have been expecting that from about two games in but we’re still fighting and improving.”

Boothroyd believes that the match is an in indication of the progress Watford have made since being defeated 3-2 by the Blades at Vicarage Road in September. “We’ve grown up a lot since we played them at home. “We got a good tanking at our place and that helped us to improve. “We learned a lot a staff from their bench and their substitutions and also their players were more professional than us and we were naïve. “Now, the tide has turned a little, we’ve shown how much we have grown up.”

However, Boothroyd still believes that there is more to come from the Championship’s leading goalscorer Marlon King. “Marlon has got so much to go still. “I think he’s got another 20% to improve as a player. “He’s really starting to fire now and if he can remained disciplined and keep getting better, he’s got such a will to win its incredible. “If he can keep his emotions in check, the sky’s the limit for him.”
