In-form Macca gives timely reminder

Pint sized left winger, Anthony McNamee, gave Aidy Boothroyd a timely reminder of his unquestioned abilities down the flank by netting Watford`s first goal in a last gasp 4-3 reserves win over QPR tonight [Wednesday].

The Hornets have struggled for creative flair down the left side since the departure of ol` Jinky Johnson (recalled by Boro) and, with Jobi McAnuff out injured, have relied on the services of out-of-sorts striker Steve Kabba to fill the wideman void.

McNamee`s performance, along with that of scholar Alex Campana on the right flank, could now ask serious questions of Aidy`s selection policy ahead of Bristol City on Saturday.

After all the gaffer has promised to shake things up after last night`s loss at home to Burnley.

There was a brace too for ex Rangers and West Ham striker Moses Ashikodi, who is on his way back from a broken leg sustained whilst on loan at Bradford last season, whilst Brazilian playmaker Rinaldi will have done himself no harm at all with a classy finish.

So the attack minded ressies of Rinaldi, Aloi, Campana, Liam Henderson and McNamee and Ashikodi would have caught Sir Aidy`s eye, but it was, once again, the defensive frailties of the Glory Hornets fringe players that will be of concern to the boss

Conceeding 3 goals to a young, inexperienced QPR side will have done nothing for the confidence of young back-up defensive cover of Jordan Parkes (left back) or Cedric Avinel in the centre at a time when the Watford gaffer is set to look at his options.
