Shittu : There's no I in Team

Man mountain centre half (and soon to be Watford`s leading goalscorer) Danny Shittu netted his 3rd goal in 2 games, with a late consolation strike against Burnley but pushed away suggestions he was more than happy with his personal performances!

Shittu, who with 4 strikes to his name is fast approaching his best ever tally of 7 goals in the 02-03 season with QPR, told the Watford Observer "We lost and that's first and foremost. I would rather have traded in my goals for a win".

The Nigerian stopper` s 'double header` brace - v Barnsley - at Oakwell and fine 18-yard drive at home to Burnley (taken with all the aplomb of an in-form striker) have been scant consolation for Watford as both games have ended in unexpected defeat.

But Shittu insists confidence is still high in the Hornets camp, despite picking up only 4 points from the last 5 games. "Our heads won`t drop. We`ve done well to get ourselves in this position, [Charlton lost tonight] so we`re still top of the league and in there fighting for promotion".

The shame, out centre half has scored our last three goals. Is this a stat of a team worthy of promotion? I think not,..

Yeah, if you put it like that it makes Watford sound dreadful...
