Francis on the mend

All-action Jamaican midfielder, Damien Francis, will return to first team action in the next fornight.

The one-time Jamaican cap damaged knee ligaments at the end of last season as Watford were relegated against Manchester City.

After a gruelling 8-month recovery period, Francis is back in training and has been for the past ten days. Tomorrow's clash against Barnsley has come slightly too soon for the former Wigan man, but he could feature against Burnley.

And what timing too, with Al Bangura in legal trouble, Douglas Rinaldi virtually forgotten and Mahon out of form, Francis could be the man to make the midfield berth alongside Lee Williamson his own.

Mr Bodell says:
'It's been a long time coming, but Francis deserves a chance to earn a place in midfield. Although I wasn't overly impressed last season, I'm confident that back in the Championship he will thrive.

I'm not sure. Mahon is undroppable and Williamson is playing well.
