Beckham to train with Watford?

Could the Beckham`s be about to swap the glamour of Hollywood`s Rodeo Drive for the horrors of the Harlequin Shopping Centre in Watford during the winter off-season?

The hacks down at the Daily Mail certainly think so as they claim that LA Galaxy have given Beckham permission to train with an English club during the off-season with Watford "possibly" pencilled in as his 'winter training base`.

Beckham is widely rumoured to be set to train with the Hornets throughout December and January, as he considers returning to England to keep up his fitness, should England qualify for Euro 2008.

Here at VitalWatford Towers, we reckon it was bound to happen at some point - The Hertfordshire 'Beckingham Palace` estate, Posh`s family ties, the Elton John connection and, of course, the Terry Byrne factor (the one-time Watford Director of Football who now heads up Beckham`s management company)…it was all kind if inevitable.

Beckham has only managed 360 minutes of footie for LA Galaxy, thanks to ankle and knee injuries, and is likely to be starved of action after the Galaxy failed to reach the end-of-season play offs following a defeat against Chicago fire .

He told overeager journalists "I`m a person that likes to train and work every day. That`s the way it`s been through my whole career for the last 15 year. I`ve never had more than 3 weeks off in the summer".

Ok, let`s not kid ourselves but the VitalWatford boys are partial to a bit of wild speculation…but just imagine what his presense would do for the Academy lads coming through!

You ought to see if you could sign him whilst its the close season in America. I am sure he would prefer match sharpness rather than just training. It would also get the crowd buzzing and help sell out the ground.
