'Been there, got the Jackett'

Manchester City reserve team boss Kenny Jackett has today been confirmed as the new manager of Millwall.

The Lions have been without a gaffer since the board removed Willy Donachie from the job. Donachie had been at the club for around a year.

Forty-five year-old Jackett was himself sacked by Swansea last season, despite taking the Swans perilously close to promotion on more than one occasion.

After leaving the Liberty Stadium, the former Golden Boy's midfield linked up with Stuart Pearce at Man City. Now under Sven Goran Eriksson the former Wales cap was obviously not crucial to the Swede who allowed him to take the job.

Millwall lie 22nd in the league and Jackett has a hard task in taking the Lions up the League One ladder. He does however have the help of Will Hoskins, the on-loan 'Orn [which you can read about on this site], who extended his loan deal in South London today.

Jackett is not the only Glory Hornet Boy back in a job of late, Glenn Roeder was confirmed at Norwich City boss in time to take them to Portman Road at the weekend. The 51 year-old's first game in charge saw his side come back from two down to draw 2-2. His second game in charge, his first at home as against, you guessed it, Watford.

Good luck to both in their new jobs, but only to Glenn after tonight!

He did a good job at that level with Swansea. I think it could be a little harder at Millwall.
