Watford's DeMerit out for 4 weeks!

Ok, it`s hardly a disaster but the official Watford site have confirmed that American centre half (and defensive rock) Jay DeMerit will miss the next 4 weeks of Championship action after picking up a calf injury following a clash with baggie Ishmael Miller.

The player himself told sources close to VitalWatford that a 2 week break was on the cards after he left the hallowed turf of Fortress Vicarage on a stretcher with just 9 minutes on the clock but the WD18 medical team (who are actually real doctors unlike Vital`s very own Dr Watford) believe he could be ruled out for the next month.

Talking to the ever so articulate folk at the official site, Sir Aidy confirmed 'Its disappointing news concerning Jay, but it gives young Aidy Mariappa a chance and obviously I've pulled Matt Jackson back from Blackpool and we've got Malky Mackay as well. That's why we carry a big squad in case we lose good players like Jay."
