Hornets make move for US keeper

American goalkeeper Ian Joyce as secured a non professional playing contract with Watford after impressing The Good Ship Boothroyd during last weeks reserves defeat at the hands of Southampton.

The 22 year old US stopper from New Jersey, played for Seton Hall Pirates in his homeland until June 2006 and has landed the contract with the Hornets after failing to impress at Crewe and Millwall.

The VitalWatford boys can't help be a little surprised at this decision by Sir Aidy and his team to swoop for a guy who has already been turned away by some Div 1 sides!...

Given that we already have 3 excellent keepers in Poom, Lee and Loach all vying for the Number 1 slot, the VitalWatford boys wonder then whether a 'non professional' contract has been handed to give the coaches a chance to have a longer look at Joyce before committing to anything more long term...

After all, we all remember unsuccessful moves for Sietes, Kamara, Seanla and Griffiths!
