'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Trio chosen for Italian job

Ashley Young, Anthony McNamee and Chris Eagles have been selected for the Football League under-21 squad to face a team from Serie B.

Forward Young and wingers McNamee and Eagles have been selected by England under-21 and Hull City chief Peter Taylor for the initial 33-man squad. All three players will be hoping to make it into the final 16-man squad that will take on its counterparts from Italy at Hull's KC Stadium on 21 February.

Watford supremo Aidy Boothroyd told the club's official website: 'I am delighted for all three of the lads. They have played their parts in making us one of the teams to beat this season. 'Being included in this squad should be a great boost to their confidence. 'I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all three will be involved in the 16 who take part in the match on the night.'

Promotion-chasing Watford are among the clubs who have provided the largest number of players for the one-off match. In contrast, Pace-setters Reading have only one player selected for the squad while Neil Warnock's Sheffield United do not have any players included for the Football League squad.
