Prize winning Hornet is just 'grand'

Prize winning Hornet is just 'grand'

A fame hungry Hornet fan has paid more than £1,000 in a recent online auction to secure a place in the 2007-2008 Watford FC squad photo.

The 'club commissioned` online auction, with a starting bid of just £100, received 23 unique bids from Glory Hornet fanatics during a 7 day period and had reached the £500 mark in the first 24 hours.

The eventual winner, whose opening offer represented a modest £350, was outbid 8 times in pursuit of the prize and will now have to fork out a staggering £1,030 to appear alongside the Vicarage Road heroes.
