Sanchez up to his dirty tricks again

Not content with causing the 'Good Ship Boothroyd' a few headaches ahead of the new season with the transfer of Bouazza, Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez is up to his dirty tricks again.

This time, the redtops aren`t helping our cause with the News of the World linking American national centre back, Jay DeMerit, with a move to Craven Cottage.

Sadly, VitalWatford can`t help but think there is some foundation to the speculation with a strong US national team contingent at Fulham with Brian McBride and Carlos Bocanegro in their ranks.

There`s also the links with former Hornets boss, Ray Lewington (now coach at Fulham) who signed DeMerit from non league Northwood Town.

Rumour has it that Middlesborough will also join the race to sign the no nonsense defender in the next week or so with Gareth Southgate looking to find a reliable partner for the, alice band wearing, Jonathon Woodgate.

To all parties concerned - Jay lacks pace, is still learning game, is mentally tired, could do with a break, doesn't look good in white or red... Just leave him alone!
