Team News for Willem II visit

Jay DeMerit and big Danny Shittu get the chance to impress Aidy Boothroyd this afternoon after the cente half pairing were named in the starting eleven.

American International, DeMerit, gets his first run out of preseason against Willem in place of Clarke Carlise, after returning from Gold Cup Duty with the US national squad.

Dan Shittu, who is widely rumoured to be all set for a move away from the club, comes in for Matt Jackson after missing the midweek draw with MK Dons.

Will Hoskins, signed from Rotherham in January, gets a start, albeit out of position, in the left wing berth with Jobi McAnuff stepping down to the bench.

The Watford line-up in full then is: Poom, Doyley, DeMerit, Shittu, Stewart, Mahon, Williamson, McNamee, Hoskins, King and Priskin.

On the bench - Lee, Mariappa, Jackson, Bangura, McAnuff, Carlisle
