PNE 'Not for Me' - Henderson

Watford hitman Darius Henderson has turned down a move to join Preston North End to fight for his place at the Vic, according to the PNE official site.

The Watford striker, who has been linked with a number of clubs this summer has now returned from the Hornet's trip to Germany, after featuring only briefly in pre-season.

PNE boss Paul Simpson told the official site:

Obviously I'm disappointed that a player who I believe would have been a strong addition to our squad has decided that he wants to remain with his current club,'

The Watford board had originally accepted a bid in the region of 1.3m for Henderson.

Dr Watford says: Will this put an end to Aidy's plans to bring in a new front man? Here at VitalWatford we can only wonder whether Darius' decision is based upon the fact a new man has yet to sign on the dotted line.

Nice one DH! Good to see a player prepared to fight for his place.
