McAnuff joins Watford

Former Crystal Palace winger Jobi McAnuff has today put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Vicarage Road. Aidy Boothroyd has splashed 1.75 million on the versatile winger, a fee that could rise by a further 250k.

Boothroyd was believed to have been following McAnuff since last season but Palace boss Peter Taylor rejected Boothroyd`s approaches. With only a year left on his contract, Taylor and Palace were left in a situation where taking the money was the sensible option.
Speaking to the clubs official website, Aidy had this to say about his latest acquisition: "I have been after him for a long time. He is two-footed, can shoot, can cross, can make goals and can score goals." "He knows the Championship division and he knows what is required to win."

Jobi McAnuff factfile:

Age: 25
Position: Right/left Winger
Nationality: Jamaican
Former clubs: Wimbledon, Cardiff City, West Ham & Crystal Palace
Height: 5'11'
Weight: 11 St. 5Lbs
