Foster speaks from cloud nine

Speaking after the final whistle of his side's 1-0 win over West Ham United, the first on the road this season, the 23-year-old spoke of the week that was.

'It's a great, great feeling to experience that first away win of the season in a big six-pointer like this and we're all really happy with it.

'This [win] is a massive boost and although there's a long way to go if we carry on playing like that we'll put a little run together and we'll see what happens.

'Playing for England in midweek was brilliant, the proudest moment of my career so far. It was a disappointing performance but great on a personal note.'

Returning to Watford's West Ham win Foster was full of praise for goalscorer Darius Henderson, who notched his first of the season to confirm the victory.

'The performance was brilliant and I'm over the moon for Darius because it's been a long old season for him.

'The boys have stood behind him and the manager's stood behind him and we're delighted.

'I never had any doubts he'd score as he's always last off the training field practicing penalties.'
