Aidy Boothroyd said after the woeful performance against Bolton, 'if we play like that we will go down.
'I expected us to get points because, as good as Bolton are, they didn`t play play particularly well. But we never turned up and we have got ourselves in a hole.
'We have got to get out of it but if play like that we will only make it deeper.'
So Aidy looks as though he may be resigning himself to a season in the Championship next. But things could all change if we get a result against West Ham.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce acknowledged that his side had failed to sparkle but said Anelka`s class had made the difference.
'You always need a bit of quality at the right time at this level and there wasn`t a lot of quality out there until Nicolas popped up and put it into the back of the net.
'There was probably no-one else on the pitch capable of doing what he did and that`s made the difference between us winning and drawing, as he has done so often this season.' What? Score a soft goal. Anelka didn't do anything all game apart from somehow squeeze the ball through a crowded box. Rubbish Allardyce.
