Vital View - Premier League - 15th-16th September 2017
The Premier League season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Friday's game saw Bournemouth come from behind to beat coastal rivals Brighton - securing the Cherries' first win of the Premier League campaign.
Crystal Palace might have changed their boss but it didn't make any difference as the Eagles again lost and failed to score as Roy Hodgson - returning to a former club in a first job since leaving England - got underway with a defeat in the visit from Southampton.
A draw at Anfield will most definitely please Burnley - who can add this point to a win at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea - more than it would Liverpool.
Newcastle's latest win took them into a Champions League spot when the Magpies beat Stoke. Meanwhile, Manchester City - having thrashed Liverpool 5-0 a week before and Feyenoord 4-0 in the Champions League - moved to the top of the Premier League with a 6-0 win at previously unbeaten Watford.
Games at West Brom and Tottenham ended goalless from the visits of West Ham and Swansea to the Hawthorns and Wembley, respectively.
