Assombalonga Targeted With Improved Bid?
It's being reported today that Watford will attempt to do a deal with Nottingham Forest for striker Britt Assombalonga.
The Nottingham Post are reporting this morning that Watford head coach Marco Silva is preparing a £10million offer for the 24 year old player in an effort to get a deal done.
They report that Forest have already rejected one offer from Burnley worth in the region of £8million and they are too said to be returning with an uplift, but involving defender Tendayi Darikwa as a cash plus player swap.
The story complicates as Middlesbrough and Huddersfield Town are said to be interested with Boro willing potentially to pay in the region of £15million for him.
No doubt the Assombalonga speculation comes from the ongoing uncertainty over the future of Troy Deeney, but whether we'd go to £15million remains to be seen.
He did begin his career with us though, making four appearances, before moving on to Peterborough United back in 2013, but his goalscoring return for Peterborough and Forest speaks for itself.
