'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Fit Squad Again.

Following their flying start to the season, Watford have come back to earth with a bit of a bump with no wins in their last five league games - during which time they've slipped from third to seventh in the league.

However, Aidy refuses to dwell on the under-par performance against the Foxes: 'We can't think too much about individual games or results. From the moment I came in here, we've been working to a long-term plan.'

If anything, the bright start the saw Watford establish themselves amongst the early season pace-setters in The Championship, has raised expectations a little earlier than Aidy was planning.

Returning to action so soon after a defeat gives the team a quick opportunity to make amends and the boss shares that view: 'Yes, we're about to go into a hectic spell of seven games in 21 days.

'So I'll be keeping a close eye on how the team is coping with that. When I said that we lacked energy on Saturday, I wasn't referring to the physical performance.

'Ever since I came here, we've been a really mentally alert side but we didn't manage that on Saturday. That's what I meant.'

Watford are now back to full fitness, but boss Boothroyd doesn't plan on making wholesale changes to the team that lost to Leicester and says he has allowed the loan players to return to their clubs.

He told the official site: 'No, I don't expect to make big changes for Tuesday's game. We've got a fully-fit squad now so I've let the loan guys return to their clubs.'

He confirms Henderson is ready to return:

'Darius Henderson spent the weekend in intensive training to get him back to the fitness levels he'll need for a match so he's now available for selection for Tuesday night.'

He also says the recent bad form won't worry him 'It won't affect my preparations for Tuesday night at all. As I said, I don't like to take too much from individual games - I prefer to focus on long-term development and one bad performance is not going to change my views on the squad we've got here.'
