OFFICIAL: Lloyd Dyer Signs
Watford Football Club have announced the signing of Leicester City winger Lloyd Dyer. The move will be completed at the end of June, with the wide man becoming a Hornet on or around July 1.
The 31-year-old was offered a one-year extension with Leicester, which would have seen him play in the Premiership following the Foxes' promotion from the Championship, but Dyer opted to sign a three-year deal with the Hornets instead.
Dyer, who scored the winning goal against Bolton to secure Leicester the Championship title this term, has appeared 266 times for the Foxes since joining from MK Dons in 2008.
In this time, the winger has contributed 39 goals. His game revolves around his blistering pace, which was used to good effect to round off a 3-0 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road last season with Dyer scoring at the end of a fast breakaway.
As the Watford Observer reports, the Foxes released a statement on their website wishing Lloyd Dyer well following his decision to move to WD18.
"Leicester City Football Club would like to place on record its thanks to Lloyd for his hard work and professionalism during his time in a Foxes shirt and for his considerable contribution to two promotions and the club`s return to the Premier League.
"We wish him and his family success in his new challenge at Vicarage Road."
