First Pre-Season Fixtures Announced

First Pre-Season Fixtures Announced

The first pre-season friendly to be played at Vicarage Road has been announced today, and it's a fixture many Hornets fans have been waiting to see as Watford will line up against Udinese at the beginning of August.

The game will be played on Saturday August 2, with the match starting at 3pm.

The date for this pre-season fixture is tied in with the Hornets annual Community Open Day, which takes place on Sunday August 3.

The official site mentions several prize giveaways that will occur between the two days, with some competitions starting on the Saturday and ending on Sunday.

The Open Day on the Sunday will take place at Fullerians RFC, and if the last few years are anything to go by, the away kit for next season should be previewed at this event.

Saturday's ticket prices and Sunday's exact timings and events schedule will be confirmed within the next couple of weeks. Keep checking watfordfc.com for further details.

The announcement of the Udinese friendly is in addition to four other pre-season fixtures recently announced.

There are three 'development squad' matches, where several youth team players are expected to feature heavily:

Wednesday July 23 (19:45 kick off) at Wealdstone, Tuesday July 29 (19:30 kick off) at Boreham Wood, and Wednesday August 6 (19:30 kick off) at Hemel Hempstead Town.

The only other confirmed pre-season friendly at this stage is at Stevenage Borough on Saturday July 19 (15:00 kick off).
