Internationals: Pudil earns late Czech call-up

Daniel Pudil has earned his first Czech Republic call-up in nearly two years as a replacement for the injured Ladislav Krejci.

Pudil, 28, had been close to earning a spot in coach Pavel Vrba's initial squad before winger Krejci was injured.

The Czech Republic host Norway at 17.30 in Prague, with Pudil hoping to add to his 23 full caps.

Elsewhere, Cristian Battocchio is included in Italy Under-21's squad for their 2015 Under-21 European Championships qualifier in Northern Ireland.

It had originally been reported that the midfielder had been selected for a training camp, but the Italian F.A have listed Battocchio as part of coach Luigi Di Biagio's squad for this afternoon's game, which kicks off at 16.00.

There are nine fixtures with hopeful Hornets' representatives:

15.00: Sean Murray, Connor Smith & Tommie Hoban - Ireland U21s v Montengro U21s (Q)

16.00: Cristian Battocchio - Northern Ireland U21s v Italy U21s (Q)

17.00: Park Ju-Young - Greece v South Korea

17.00: Essaid Belkalem - Algeria v Slovenia

17.00: Daniel Toszer - Hungary v Finland

17.30: Daniel Pudil - Czech Republic v Norway

18.00: Jonathan Bond - England U21s v Wales U21s (Q)

18.30: Joel Ekstrand - Turkey v Sweden

19.45: Ikechi Anya - Poland v Scotland

*Games marked with a (Q) are qualifiers.

Good luck to all those involved.
