Sebastiani set for coaching role with Watford

Alfredo Sebastiani has confirmed he will join the coaching staff at Watford and it is reported that he was approached last Thursday, four days ahead of former head coach Gianfranco Zola`s departure.

48 year old, Sebastiani worked as a youth team coach at FC Sudtirol for 16 years, including helping the club to promotion in the 2009/10 season whilst head coach.

Giuseppe Sannino, who looks set to take the hot seat at Vicarage Road, worked with Sebastiani at FC Sudtriol more than a decade ago.

The Sports News website in Suditriol has reported that Sebastiani was approached about becoming assistant head coach at Watford last Thursday.

His former club, FC Sudtriol today confirmed that Sebastiani was leaving mutual consent.

Sport News says he is is Watford-bound and quoted Sebastiani as saying (via a translation site): 'It took me a day to think about it. Afterwards I agreed. Such opportunities you get only once in life."

Sanninio confirmed earlier today (Tuesday) that he was set for talks about the opportunity of taking over at Watford.
