Doyley To Sign New Deal?

Sky Sources have reported this afternoon that they expect long serving defender Lloyd Doyley to sign a new deal with the club.

Doyley's contract was initially due to expire this summer but it has been reported that he has agreed to sign a new one-year contract to take him up until next summer.

Doyley was one of the stand-out players in the Play-off Final defeat against Crystal Palace last month and was a regular at the heart of the defence last season, making 38 appearances.

Since making his debut for Watford in September 2001, Doyley has made over 400 appearances and is currently ninth in the list of all time appearance makers for the Hornets.

Fingers crossed this comes to fruition. He deserves another year, if not more.

Sure he would be pushing for more than one year.. Along with Troy Deeney Lloyd was our best own player last season.. (by own I mean not on loan)

Agreed. It's just age thing at a guess.
