Bond injuries not as serious as first feared
Hornet's goalkeeper Jonathan Bond suffered a broken nose and concussion during this afternoon's 2-1 defeat by Leeds United, but thankfully, nothing more.
The 19 year-old goalkeeper was withdrawn after 24 minutes of Watford's final regular season game against Leeds after a collision with Ikechi Anya and Leeds' forward, Dominic Poleon.
Bond received lengthy treatment on the pitch from the Watford medical staff, before being stretchered into a waiting ambulance and taken to Watford General Hospital.
However, the Hornet's Official Twitter account has this evening been able to confirm that the Welsh youth international suffered nothing more than a broken nose and concussion.
Jon Bond update from #watfordfc medical team: Has been having X-rays at hospital. Broken nose, concussion. Mercifully, nothing too serious.— Official #watfordfc (@watfordfcsays) May 4, 2013
A relief for all concerned. Best wishes Jonathan, from all at Vital Watford.
