Have you ever wondered if other teams/people like us? When I listen to the half-time results or if I`m stuck at home watching Soccer Saturday and Luton or QPR lose I smile but I often wonder how people feel about us.
Of course there are other sides as well who I hope will lose. This could`ve been down to defeats that have left a bad taste in my mouth, nasty fans or just personnel at a club.
I know that QPR fans don`t really have much time for us, and I remember being told about a Wycombe vs Luton game where the whole crowd sang anti-Watford songs which made me chuckle. Other than that I don`t really think there are any other teams who dislike us.
Sadly I don`t get too travel to that many away games at the moment but generally I`ve always enjoyed banter with away fans, well except Birmingham. Mind you I haven`t visited Cardiff or Millwall.
So far most Premier League fans feedback seems to be positive, between websites and phone-in shows people seem to hope that we do well. Courtesy of being stuck in Dublin most weekends I end up relying on Jeff Stelling and his interesting mix of reporters for updates. So far the panel don`t really rate our chances but they like our spirit.
Whilst most of you were sitting in Vicarage Road watching the game, I was sat at home. I was really impressed with the credit that we were given by the two commentators, especially in the second half where I felt we could`ve bagged all three points. It`s always a frustrating sign when the opposing keeper gets named man of the match.
I changed my job two weeks ago, as the first interview came to an end the interviewer (my future boss) asked me about football. I told him that I was a Watford season ticket holder, he started telling me how much of a genius Aidy Boothroyd was. He was so positive that I thought I`d met another Watford fan, sadly I was wrong. He and 90% of the football fans in the office are all Liverpool fans, but after working in an office full of ladies who weren`t interested in football, they made a nice change.
In the last two weeks I`ve enjoyed various conversations about football, everybody I`ve spoken to has said positive things about Watford. It`s fair to say that they aren`t sure if we`ll stay up but as long as we remain positive WHO KNOWS?!?!?!
