OFFICIAL: Iwelumo loaned to Oldham Athletic

Veteran targetman Chris Iwelumo has become Watford's first deal of Transfer Deadline Day, joining Oldham Athletic on-loan for the rest of the season.

The 34 year-old Scotland international joins up with Paul Dickov's F.A Cup giant-killers for the remainder of the campaign, having made just seven npower Championship appearances for the Club this season.

The news has been confirmed by the Official Latics Site.

Iwelumo spent an earlier part of the season out on-loan at League One Notts County, making five starts for Keith Curle's side.

Signed by Sean Dyche from Burnley on a two-year contract last summer, Iwelumo has made 25 league starts and 20 substitute appearances since moving from Turf Moor, bagging four league goals in the process.

Whilst never prolific during his time in WD18, the 6'3 forward has been an invaluable presence in the Hornet's young squad and the kind of tireless, lead-by-example kind of professional all clubs need.

Good luck, Chris!
