Iwelumo to join Oldham Athletic on loan

Veteran striker Chris Iwelumo is set to join League One outfit Oldham Athletic on-loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports News

The 34 year-old Scotland international has already spent part of the season out on-loan with Notts County.

Iwelumo has been out of favour at the Vic' this season due to the volume of striking options available to Gianfranco Zola.

The former Burnley man is set to join Paul Dickov's Latics on-loan for the remainder of the season with his contract at Vicarage Road set to expire at the end of the season.

Vital Watford will bring you confirmation of the deal as soon as possible.

I think he still has plenty to give in terms of sharing his experience with the strikers at the club, but presumably he's keen to get some game time under his belt and put his name about ahead of next season.
