OFFICIAL: McGinn loaned to Shrewsbury Town

Forgotten man Stephen McGinn has joined League One outfit Shrewsbury Town on-loan until the end of April.

The Scottish midfielder has been out of action for nearly two years following cruciate ligament damage suffered in February 2010.

McGinn returned to action this term by playing a number of development XI friendlies but has been unable to negotiate a way into Gianfranco Zola's starting XI.

With his contract up at the end of the season, the former St. Mirren man has agreed a loan move to get first-team football under his belt.

Speaking to Shrewsbury Town's Official Site, boss Graham Turner praised his new loan capture:

"He picked up an injury at Watford which kept him out action for a while, he`s raring to go now and we`ve taken him on loan until the end of the season.

"He is a good midfield player with a good eye for a pass and he chips in with some important goals."

McGinn will remain at Shrewsbury until April 27 and is eligible for tomorrow's match against Scunthorpe United.
