'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zola: 'It was not good enough from us'

Gianfranco Zola was left disappointed yesterday as his side struggled to a draw at Burnley, failing once again to hit the heights of December.

The Hornet's Head Coach saw his side take an 11th minute lead through Nathaniel Chalobah's volley, but fail to build on their advantage.

When the division's top-scorer Charlie Austin levelled from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark, the Hornets find themselves fighting to take a point from Turf Moor for much of the remaining hour.

Speaking afterwards to watfordfc.com, Zola lamented his side's poor showing:

'This was not our best performance of recent weeks,' stated Zola.

'The quality we normally have on the ball was missing today. It was not good enough from us, to be honest.'

The Italian continued by looking to the future:

'It's important now that we re-focus our minds and return to the good things that have been developing among the squad.

'This Championship is an amazing test of stamina. There are 46 matches so there is no need to get too caught up with one result or one performance - other than to know what can be moved forward and used for our benefit.'

Watford are at home next Saturday as they face Sean O'Driscoll's Nottingham Forest.
