Former Watford manager Sean Dyche has this afternoon been appointed as manager of Burnley on a two-and-a-half year contract.
The 41 year-old had been heavily linked with the vacant position at Turf Moor since the weekend and has this afternoon officially been unveiled as Eddie Howe's replacement.
Unceremoniously dumped by the Pozzo's in the summer following their takeover of the club, Dyche's affiliation with Watford began in 2002 when he signed on a free transfer from Millwall.
The Kettering-born defender stayed until 2005 and returned to take up a role within Aidy Boothroyd's coaching staff in 2007.
Dyche remained at Vicarage Road until this summer, working with the U18's and eventually the senior side, assisting Malky Mackay for two years before getting the top job in his own right last summer.
Assistant manager Ian Woan and first-team coach Tony Loughlan, both of whom were part of Dyche's backroom team in WD18 has followed him to Lancashire and took training this morning.
Until recently Dyche had been working as part of Stuart Pearce's England U21 setup as he looked to further his coaching experience and knowledge.
Watford took four points from Burnley last season under Dyche, drawing 2-2 at Turf Moor during his managerial debut and latterly winning 3-2 at the Vic' in a memorable clash.
Congratulations, Sean, from all at Vital Watford and the very best of luck for the future with Burnley.
