Zola: 'We didn't threaten often enough'

Head Coach Gianfranco Zola was left 'frustrated and disappointed' as his side failed to build on their spirited showing at Cardiff on Tuesday night against Blackburn Rovers yesterday.

Watford were undone by an injury-time winner for the second time in a week, with £8m forward Jordan Rhodes sealing a priceless Rovers win in the 91st minute.

Colin Kazim-Richards had earlier blown the best opportunity of the game, crashing his penalty kick against Manuel Almunia's cross bar & over.

Speaking afterwards to watfordfc.com, Zola revealed his disappointment after consecutive defeats:

'We didn't threaten often enough this afternoon, so I have no thoughts toward saying we deserved to win,' conceded the head coach.

But I feel a draw would have been just about right because Blackburn didn't have a lot of chances.

'Of course I was pleased to see the penalty missed - and I thought at this point we would end up with a draw, so it is frustrating and disappointing to leave with nothing this afternoon.'

Watford head into November with back-to-back home games against the in-form Leicester City and Millwall.
