Cardiff winger supports Pudil appeal

Cardiff City winger Craig Noone is believed to have helped support Daniel Pudil's appeal against his red card on Tuesday night.

The Hornet's defender was dismissed during the second half of Watford's 2-1 defeat by the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium for an off-the-ball incident.

No-one was entirely sure at the time what Pudil had done to merit a red, with referee Mr Heywood consulting with his assistant before dismissing the defender.

However, The Watford Observer have revealed this evening that not only will Watford appeal the resulting three-match ban, but they will do so with the support of Noone, the man Pudil allegedly struck.

The Czech Republic international has been banned for three matches with immediate effect for violent conduct, but his appeal is based on the fact he did not intent to hit Noone.

Noone has submitted written evidence to the Football Association, whilst Cardiff City have submitted their own previously unseen footage of the incident.

Fingers crossed.

Indeed. You only see it very occasionally. Fair play to Craig Noone.

Have to say though, the incident was just a few feet from me and it Noone gestured at least three times to the assistant that he had been caught in the face.... must have played a part in the decision

Blimey. Well either way, glad of the assistance of Cardiff & Noone in helping Pudil get off the hook. Whatever some people say about the incident, I seriously doubt any player would argue with the referee to overturn a red card in their favour.
