'If It's Football, It's Vital'

UPDATED: Dickinson loaned to Pompey

Forgotten man Carl Dickinson has today (Monday) joined League One outfit on a month long loan deal.

The 25 year-old has fallen well behind Daniel Pudil in the pecking-order, and with Watford no longer playing with a left-back in the 3-5-2 system, opportunities have been sporadic.

Dickinson, signed from Stoke City last summer, has made five appearances for the 'Orns this term, the last of those coming at Derby in September. In total the Swadlincote-born defender made 39 appearances for the Golden Boys last term, nailing down the left-back slot as his own.

The defender announced the move Twitter earlier today, tweeting:

@dicko_87 'Glad to be back, was nice to see some familiar faces, let's hope its a good month with some good results! #PUP'

Speaking to Pompey's Official Site, Dickinson admitted that first-team football was the deciding factor:

"It`s an exciting move. I found out on Friday that Pompey were interested and it was a no-brainer for me.

"I wasn`t getting a chance at Watford and I needed games, so I jumped at the chance to come back."

He goes straight into Michael Appleton's squad for their clash against Stevenage tomorrow night. Good luck Carl!
