'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zola: 'Forestieri told me he was going to score!'

Watford battled their way to a priceless win at Huddersfield yesterday, leaving head coach Gianfranco Zola a very happy man.

Watford fell behind to a speculative free kick from Oliver Nor wood after finding their feet in the game following a nervy start.

A slaloming run from Fernando Forestieri drew the Hornets level in the second period before Fitz Hall bagged what was also his first for the club from a Mark Yeates cross.

Substitute Alan Lee tied the scores up at 2-2 when he modded home before Forestieri was felled in the Terriers' penalty area and Troy Deeney bagged coolly from 12 yards.

Speaking afterwords to watfordfc.com, Zola was delighted with his Argentine forward:

'Fernando told me he was going to score today so I think that's why he came running over to me!'

'But no, he was excellent today,' admitted Zola.

'There is a bit of Latin in him, for sure, in the way that sometimes he hits the floor with a bit of extra style.

'I promise you though he is being caught most of those times - because he is so often a yard ahead of the defenders.'

The boss also reserved praise for Forestieri's strike partner & fellow goal scorer Deeney:

'Troy was outstanding.

'He is an example of a footballer who never gives up and we need players like this with us. He made their defenders nervous and he was a threat always.'

Watford will look to build on the win at Charlton on Tuesday.
