McGinn & Hall fit to feature in QPR friendly

Stephen McGinn & Fitz Hall will feature in a friendly match against QPR today as they work towards full match fitness following injury.

The pair, who have missed virtually the entire of pre-season as well as every league and cup fixture up to now will line-up in a development XI in a behind-closed-doors friendly today.

McGinn has of course been out for 19 months following knee ligament damage suffered at Doncaster in 2011.

However, Gianfranco Zola revealed yesterday that the Scottish midfield was fit for first-team selection after suffering a number of set-backs during his comeback.

The former St Mirrren man warmed up with the first-team ahead of last night's clash with Brighton.

New-signing Hall, one of only two permanent arrivals, was behind the main group in terms of fitness before suffering a couple of minor knocks as he worked towards first-team involvement.

The vastly-experienced centre-half's return to fitness cannot come soon enough with Watford leaking goals and lacking a physical presence at the back.

Manager Gianfranco Zola told The Watford Observer earlier in the week that striker Troy Deeney could also feature in the clash.

There were also updates on Sean Murray, who was left out as a precaution having suffered a dead leg, and Marco Cassetti who was replaced at half-time after a clash of heads caused him concussion.
