Bassini makes Portsmouth offer

Former Watford owner Laurence Bassini has submitted an offer for troubled League One outfit Portsmouth, according to reports.

The News have revealed that the controversial former Hornet's owner has submitted an offer for the south coast club.

It had been revealed earlier this summer that the Stanmore-based businessman was interested in buying the club, despite announcing that he wanted to see more of his daughter on weekends.

Bids from former Pompey owner Balram Chainrai and the Portsmouth Supporters Trust have also been submitted to administrators PKF.

Those bids are believed to be ahead of Bassini's though.

Here at Vital Watford we genuinely feel for Pompey's superb supporters, talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Liquidation has got to be a better option that being controlled by Chainrai or Bassini!

Put it this way - I'd vote for that option out of the three. Hope against hope Supporter's Trust get control of the club. Only people at the table with it's best interests at heart.

Would he pass the Fit & Proper test? He did with us granted, but this time round the FA will know what kind of business man he is. A failed one!
