OFFICIAL: Watford duo loaned to Accrington Stanley

Young Hornet's duo Piero Mingoia and Matty Whichelow have both joined League Two Accrington Stanley on emergency loan deals.

The academy graduates, both 20, become the first players to depart Vicarage Road as Gianfranco Zola takes advantage of the loan window to trim his enormous squad.

Mingoia will remain with Stanley until December 18, whilst Mingoia will sign on an initial one-month loan deal with a view to a longer-term deal.

The pair both signed professional contracts with the club in 2010 and made progress in the first-team in the 2010/11 season under Malky Mackay.

Both spent time out on loan last term with Whichelow failing to impress at Wycombe and Exeter, whilst Mingoia failed to register a single appearance with Brentford before moving to Hayes & Yeading.

Good luck to both Piero and Matty.
