Zola: 'Reaction to goals much better'

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola drew the positives from a third straight defeat as he watched his side get undone by set-plays once more.

A third minute goal from Matt Mills got Bolton Wanderers off the perfect start before veteran forward Kevin Davies doubled the Trotters' lead from another set-play.

Watford did pull one back in the second-half as they enjoyed a better spell of pressure, Lloyd Doyley scoring from the edge of the area for the Golden Boys.

Speaking afterwords to watfordfc.com, Zola said that the reaction to the goals pleased him, unlike at Derby before the international break:

'We know that we didn't defend well. But what interested me more was our reaction to the situation - and that was really very good,' admitted Zola.

'We started the second half higher up the pitch, we tried to do something really different and I was pleased with a lot of what happened.'

The gaffer also had a word for debutants Neuton and Fernando Forestieri, both of whom put in positive displays:

'Neuton suffered a bit in the first half, he learnt a lot about the demands of the Championship. But I thought he was very impressive in the second half - and there is more to come from him.

'The same with Fernando [Forestieri]. He has much more to show us and, for them and the team, this is still very near the start of what we're building here.'
