OFFICIAL: Taylor Departs To Sheffield Wednesday

Late, late in on deadline day Watford have confirmed that centre back Martin Taylor has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a two year deal.

The club confirmed that they accepted an offer from the owls for the 32-year-old defender after he asked to leave the club. Rumours have circulated that Watford did not match the two year deal that Taylor was after.

The Watford Observer tweeted earlier that Taylor was an intelligent man and knew what was coming at Watford FC. Read into that what you will.

Thank you for your services Martin from everyone at Watford and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Vic later this season!

It's not a surprise.. He still lives up north & has to travel a long way to training everyday.. For me his is slow & needs a quality player along side him to be his legs.. Thanx MT & good luck...

Done really well for us and gutted to see him go. Coped quite well with the passing football, but he asked to leave and can't blame him considering the number of additions at the back.

Goodness me. We must have some absolute belters in those new loanees to not even propose a new deal to Tiny. He has been a class above anything we've had at the Vic for a while now and to let him go without a fight seems harsh. I just hope there are a couple of these loanees who make him look like Keith Dublin.
