UPDATED: Murray Signs New 5-Year Contract

This evening (Wednesday), Watford have announced that Sean Murray has put pen to paper on an new five-year contract.

Murray had only signed a new contract in March but has agreed to extend his future at Watford until 2017.

According to The Watford Observer this is in keeping with the Pozzo`s club policy of preferring to have players tied down to long contracts.

Murray burst onto the Watford first team scene last season in the FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur and his impressive subsequent displays saw him score 7 goals in 19 appearances, some of them rather special, and pick up the clubs Young Player of the Season award for the 2011/12 campaign.

Speaking to watfordfc.com, Murray revealed his delight at another new deal:

"I didn't need any persuasion to sign. I love it here," said Murray.

"I've always loved being part of the club so to know that's going to carry on for another five years is great."

Congratulations to Sean from everyone at Vital Watford!

Very good news... Since his family issues he hasn't quite seamed the same player as last term... I think he will come good again.....

Absolutely. A real sign of intent getting him on a new deal & hopefully he will kick on again now & become the player he was last term.
