Hornets set to sign defender Angella

Watford are close to signing defender Gabriele Angella from Udinese according to the Watford Observer.

The news broke this afternoon about the potential move by Angella from Udinese to the Hornets after Watford reportedly had an offer accepted and the player has agreed to the move.

Angella, whose main position is a Centre Back, joined Udinese in 2010 and has made a few first team appearances, but spent most of last season on loan at Siena and Reggina

It is unclear at the moment whether this is a permanent transfer or another loan like previous Udinese and Granada players brought in over the summer.

I'm glad to maybe get a good CB.. It's a position I think we need strengthening.. Hope this deal goes through...

I think that Nos & Tiny are obviously very competent. Fitz Hall is still clearly a way away from being ready for first-team action, leaving us with Dale Bennett as backup. Assuming he's prepared to sit on the bench most the time, it can't hurt to have extra cover.

I think with how Zola wants to play he wants CB's who can pass there way out.. Nos & Taylor aren't great at passing..

I don't know about that. I think they're both more than competent with the ball at their feet. They may not be around forever, but at this level they can more than hold their own.

Fully agree, they may lack mobility, but they can play.
