Zola: 'I would have liked more intensity'

Hornet's boss Gianfranco Zola was pleased with his side's result yesterday at Selhurst Park but admitted that there was still more to come from the Golden Boys.

Late goals from loanees Almen Abdi and Matej Vydra stole victory from the jaws of defeat after Owen Garvan had given Crystal Palace a 2-1 lead.

Abdi crashed in from 20 yards before substitute Vydra nabbed his first for the club with a curling effort from the left.

Speaking to The Watford Observer afterwords, Zola said:

"I think the equaliser was deserved and the difference was the great goal at the ened.

"At the end of the first half Crystal Palace were winning 2-1 and I do not think they deserved to be but they found two cheap goals from us, with all due respect to them,' continued Zola.

"We played well with the ball but in football you need to be able to do both [defending] as well."

Watford will get the opportunity to improve their intensity on Tuesday night, as they play host to Ipswich Town.
