Squad Numbers Released For 2012/13

This morning Watford have released the first team squad numbers for the forthcoming 2012/13 season.

The list does show number changes for first team regulars Jonathan Hogg and Sean Murray. All the new signings have been included in the squad list with Fitz Hall taking the number 6 shirt and striker Steve Leo Beleck taking number 13. New goalkeeper Manuel Almunia also takes the number 1 jersey.

Of interest to Hornets fans will be that Troy Deeney has retained his number 9 shirt for this season. This could be the clearest indication yet that the new regime intend to keep Deeney at the club despite his prison sentence. Here is the full first team squad numbers list for the 2012/13 season:

Deeney will be sold once he's out of the nick.. We won't want to lose too much of the investment in him.. Unless Zola thinks he still has a place in the first team once fit... I can't see Deeney being any use to the first team this season.. He's fitness will not be there & it would take a while to regain it...

Interesting that Iwelumo, Yeates & Forsyth have first XI numbers still. Obviously things can change but I'm surprised as I doubt they'll last long under GZ.
