Zola pleased by trialists at Boreham Wood

New Hornet's boss Gianfranco Zola reserved praise for his two trialists today after Almen Abdi and Daniel Pudil both featured for Watford at Boreham Wood last night.

Czech Republic left-back Pudil was known to be on-trial at the Vic' along with fellow Czech, Matej Vydra. However, central midfielder Abdi was a surprise inclusion in the Hornet's second-half line-up.

Both were impressive in an otherwise uninspiring 1-1 draw at Meadow Park for the Hornets, with Zola praising both afterwords.

'With Abdi, he was literally only with us for a couple of day before tonight's game. He has done well; I think you can see he is a good player.' Zola said to watfordfc.com

The boss continued:

'Pudil also, he has shown good qualities so that is encouraging.'

Czech Republic youth international Vydra did not feature yesterday and although no reason has been given for either his or Lloyd Doyley's non-inclusion, he is very much training with the club.

Sean Murray was busy training, hence he missed the clash: @seanmuzza 'Off to training to do more running. Good luck to the boys tonight in the 1st friendly.'
